My 8.5 month old has a cough so we've been giving her Benylin infant (only today!) but it didn't say whether calpol and nurofen are also safe to give her with this. The cough medicine doesn't say it has paracetamol in it but would like to check before giving her anything alongside the Benylin. Thank you in advance x

I think calpol should only really b given if he's got a temp or really crying and nothing else helping. I'd double check the dosage, I think it might be 5ml at a time, no more than 25 in 24 hrs. When my lo had a cough cold I used calcough but no calpol as she didn't hav temp and was still smiling bless her.

I always give both - and the Calpol cough syrup always helps his cough esp if he wakes himself up during the night.
