If you look wasted or sketchy, they can and will take you off the bus and go through your belongings. Most of the drugs that you see on long Greyhound Bus rides will be in the calm-down/mellow out variety, which makes sense, since you are going to be sitting 23 hours out of each day on the bus. Marijuana is pretty easy to carry on board.
